CBS News

I'm in LA on a secret mission. Stepped out of the baggage area at the airport and a stranger recognized me. He's seen The Secret twelve times. He wanted my autograph. Wild.

Then people started calling and emailing and even text messaging me. Apparently CBS News just aired a story about The Secret and I was in it.

I have no idea what I said or where they got the footage. I love this new way to get publicity. I sit here doing nothing and CBS airs my name to the nation.

The Missing Secret

People are still writing to me, raving about last Sunday's talk about The Missing Secret.

My main message -- spiced up with stories about attracting Playboy models and exotic rare cars like Francine -- was this:

1. The Universe -- call that huge superpower God, Divinty, Life, or whatever works for you -- is sending and receiving all the time. It's sending inspiration to you. It's receiving requests from you.

2. This "dialogue" is being filtered through your belief system.

3. The results you get are what happens from the above two steps. How you read those results is also based on your belief system.

My point is that to change your results, you have to change your beliefs.

I call it "getting clear" in my book The Attractor Factor. It's The Missing Secret in virtually all self-help and personal improvement programs.

I gave three ways to change beliefs in my presentation. In short, they are:

1. Question your beliefs. I offered two ways to do this at the event. One is with the work of Byron Katie.

2. Erase all memories of limitations. I offered the ho'oponopono method explained in Zero Limits as a tool to clean the slate.

3. Get a Miracles Coach. This is the most powerful of all. It's the one thing I do in my own life to keep me up and pumped, prolific and prosperous.

This blog post can't possibly explain the above with any depth, but I wanted to share the message with you. You can begin to change your reality/results right now, by following the above.

Expect Miracles.

Ao Akua,

Joe

PS - I do all three of the above steps but Miracles Coaching is the strongest of all because you have support in changing your beliefs.

PPS - I have a plane to catch.

The Red Lipstick Campaign

I stood and signed books for almost four hours after my talk on Sunday at the World Wellness Weekend.

I met some fascinating people, including this beautiful lady in the picture with me, Cynthia Mann.

She started the Red Lipstick Campaign. It's loving cause is to give make-up and beauty treatment to women suffering from cancer. The idea is to help them realize they are still beautiful. They still have dignity.

I so love the idea that I told Cynthia I would pledge to help a female cancer patient right now. No questions asked.

She just started www.theredlipstickcampaign.org/ and isn't ready to take donations. I suggest we all help her. Contact her at www.myspace.com/theredlipstickcampaign

I wish more of us had such noble causes.

Ao Akua,

PS - I'm headed to Hollywood. My next blog posts will be from the road. Stay tuned.

Woo Woo THIS

On the way to the World Wellness Weekend in Austin, Texas, I met Laura Nichole, a Playboy model currently featured in a magazine called Natural Beauties.

We were both lost, trying to locate the event, and found it together. As we walked, she learned I was one of the featured speakers (which caused her to go orgasmic) and I discovered she's a Playboy model (which made my eyes dilate).

She was pretty proud (in a good way) of her pictures in Playboy.

I told her I could top that.

I'm on the cover of the recent edition of Austin All Natural magazine.

And I'm the centerfold, too.

Here we are holding up our magazines.

Laura's a sweetie with charm and a big heart, and we had a great time signing our pictures to each other.

Anyway...

Deepak Chopra spoke at the event Saturday night and had a nearly full room. I spoke yesterday and every seat was taken. People had to lean against the walls, sit on the floor, and stand in the hall.

Of course, Deepak and I were in different sized rooms, but still.

They expected a few hundred people to attend my talk on The Missing Secret but almost a thousand packed the house. My main point was that counter-intentions are keeping you from getting the results you want. The whole thing was videotaped, so you'll get to see it one day soon.

I'm exhausted from the event but it's a good exhaustion. It's exhilarating to see so many people ready to learn how to transform their lives and go for their dreams.

Sure beats being a victim and rolling over, playing dead.

Ao Akua,
Joe

Newsweek covers The Secret

I'm on my way out the door to speak at the World Wellness Weekend conference. Deepak Chopra spoke last night. I'm today.

I just saw the Newsweek article about The Secret. It's at www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17314883/site/newsweek/

It's mainstream journalism so you know what to expect, but at least they spelled my name right.

The Option Method

If you read my book, Adventures Within, you know I've been around the block a few times when it comes to personal growth, spiritual searching and self-discovery.

One of the most powerful and transformative methods I learned along the way is called The Option Method. It's a simple method of questioning beliefs. I learned it first-hand from Barry Neil Kaufman, author of such gems as To Love Is to Be Happy With.

Barry learned it from the creator of the method, Bruce Di Marsico. I was just given a copy of the late Di Marsico's little book on the method, called The Option Method: Unlock Your Happiness With Five Simple Questions.

The book is very philosophical and thought-provoking. It reads more like notes from Socrates than a Ray Bradbury novel. But every nugget is mind-expanding.

The section in the back by Deborah Mendel, on how to use the Option Method questions for yourself, is worth gold. These are the very questions I still use today, sometimes naturally and automatically in consultations with clients, but more often then not just with myself, to discover and release my own limiting beliefs to experiencing happiness right now.

I urge you to read this little-known classic.

I'm sure Amazon sells it.

PS - The Newsweek magazine cover story on the movie The Secret should hit the stands any day now. I'm excited! I suspect it will probably be one-sided rather than objective, but at least a whole new audience will hear about this inspiring flick. Onwards!

Is Attraction a Law?

Besides Larry King interviewing me last November, I'm being interviewed every day by other biggies, including Time magazine, Bottomline Personal, and Newsweek.

They all want to know if the law of attraction is really a law.

They all agree that gravity is, but they aren't so sure about attraction.

The people who say attraction is not a law cite examples such as, "I know gravity works. When I drop a book off a skyscraper, it will hit the ground. That's proof of the law of gravity."

Agreed.

They then go on to say, "When I try to attract something, sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't. So it isn't a law."

Not agreed.

Here's why.

Saying you tried to attract something and failed is like saying you tried to drop a book from a skyscraper to hit a particular spot and you missed. Because you missed the spot, you say gravity doesn't exist.

This is a little like telling a parachutist that because they didn't land on the red dot in the field, but instead landed in the trees, gravity doesn't exist.

Obviously gravity exists. You just don't know how to use it to get what you want in any specific way.

Same with the law of attraction.

When you focus on attracting a new car, but instead attract a moped, it isn't because the law wasn't in effect; it's because you didn't work with the law.

Everything you have is what you attracted.

You just did it unconsciously.

No biggie.

No need to feel bad or beat yourself up.

The idea now is to awaken.

Ao Akua,

Joe

PS - Newsweek is publishing a feature story on The Secret and the law of attraction next week. It should hit the stands any day. I'm eager to see what they say. Stay tuned.

A Legend Moves On

I'm sad to report that Dottie Walters passed away.

She was a loving and supportive lady, always inspiring others.

She wrote the riveting introduction to my book, The Seven Lost Secrets of Success.

She helped me and countless others get started in speaking and writing.

I knew she passed away earlier this month, but it's taken me a while to recover from the news and to be able to post anything here at all.

The Other Secret

Last Sunday, at Pat O'Bryan's recent unseminar, Bruce Burns (husband of my chief assistant, Suzanne), found me alone on the balcony getting some fresh air.

He saw an opportunity.

He decided to ask me some questions.

He said he wanted to create a product by Tuesday night.

But he had no idea what kind of product.

He just had the intention to create one, put up a website for it, and start selling it, all by Tuesday night.

I listened to him talk, and asked a few questions of my own. I've always felt that everyone has a treasure inside them that others will pay for, but virtually all of us are oblivious to it. We just need someone on the outside to listen and help us recognize it.

Bruce began to explain he has a gift of teaching people how to negotiate in various areas, from the sales floor to the living room, with clients to with kids.

He's also a skilled speaker and is a master of hypnotic story telling.

Since it was Sunday and he wanted a product for sale by Tuesday, I urged him to record his how-to negotiate info. Recording would be easy and fast. While he might be able to write a special report by Tuesday, it seemed his natural abilities led him to make a recording first. He might later transcribe the recording and turn it into a special report, an e-book, or even a full length published book.

But first things (and easy things) first.

He then asked a few questions about how to build a website quick, where to put his recording online, etc.

This entire spontaneous consultation took less than twenty minutes.

Bruce now had an idea for a product and a sense of how to put it online.

Now here's what he did that almost no one else does:

He took action.

By last Tuesday night he had several websites up. You can see them at --

www.yourownbestgood.com
www.yourownbestgood.blogspot.com
www.ourmastermind.blogspot.com
http://radiojobstexas.blogspot.com/

While The Secret reveals the law of attraction, we also have to keep in mind there's the law of right action, as well.

Is "The Secret" a Lie?

It's the ebb and flow of life.

Sooner or later the critics come flying out of their dark hiding places and start finding holes in anything that is popular. Start talking about global warming and eventually others will start talking about global cooling. And both will have sound arguments to defend their cases.

This is just beginning to happen with critics of the movie The Secret. One recent article even went as far as to say The Secret is a lie. And even dangerous. The article defends its position with mental images about the poor in Africa, or children dying of diseases.

It's a pretty bleak view and a strongly worded emotional argument.

So, is The Secret a lie?

Of course not.

It's no more a lie than anything else taken out of context and reinterpreted in a filtered, limited, negative way.

The movie is all about one idea. It doesn't pretend to tell you the secret-s of the universe. Just one of them.

And is The Secret dangerous?

At most, it may be guilty of leaving out some important extra steps to creating your ideal life.

If I were involved in the making of the movie (I'm in the movie but I didn't produce it), I'd also point out there is a law of right action, too.

Also, there are often counter intentions that need cleared for The Secret to work.

And I'd make sure people knew that feeling is more important than thought in creating your own reality.

But maybe those topics will be discussed in the sequel.

Still, the movie reveals the Law of Attraction in a powerful, inspired and inspiring way.

It's not at all dangerous.

But it's so easy to be a critic. Simply focus on the negative, find situations or people who the item won't or didn't work for, and then condemn the item.

I could take virtually any self-help, personal development, financial success, science of influence, rules of engagement, or any other book, course or topic out there and with little effort find situations where it won't or didn't work.

Critics do that all the time.

The media does that, too.

What would be the point?

It would be staying in the negative and keeping people feeling bad.

How would that serve anyone?

I prefer to inspire myself and others.

In fact, my next book, Zero Limits, explains that what you have to do to change the entire planet is change yourself.

My own take is that The Secret will work for anyone who will apply it.

What about the people in Africa?

Well, do you think they know The Secret?

Hardly.

What about children dying?

Well, do you think they know The Secret?

Hardly.

And what if someone who knew The Secret ended up in Africa or with a disease?

Obviously (as the movie points out), they could change themselves and their situation.

That's the whole point of knowing The Secret.

Rather than condemning the movie by citing examples where people don't even know the principle let alone practice it, I think a wiser stance is to find how The Secret works, demonstrate it in your own life, and let your life be a model for others to be inspired by.

I think that's what the teachers in the movie, including myself, are trying to do.

All in all, I'd rather be a creator than a critic.

By creating a life worth living, I make a difference in the world -- first in my own life, and then in the lives of others who are inspired to dare something worthy, too.

The Secret isn't a lie; it's a law.

You just have to apply it.

Ao Akua,

Joe
www.mrfire.com

PS - I got a traffic ticket a week ago. I attracted it to me -- by not obeying the law. The law is there for me to obey or not. Follow it and I get good results. Don't follow it and I may get results I don't want. Traffic law can be considered less important or concrete than the law of gravity. But it's still a law. So is the law revealed in the movie The Secret. Go watch it again.

TIP: Most people who criticize The Secret are doing so because they want it to work but can't seem to make it work. One of the biggest reasons The Secret doesn't instantly work for someone is due to lack of forgiveness. An entire culture can experience this. But it can be changed with one person forgiving. Namely you. I'm doing this myself, and constantly going through my mental files to see who or what needs forgiven in my life (including me). For help, consider the Subliminal Manifestation DVDs or of course Miracles Coaching. And dare something worthy, that will inspire yourself and others, rather than raining on a parade that could heal millions. Don't be seduced by the dark side. Go toward the light.

Meeting P.T. Barnum

I heard about legendary media prankster Alan Abel well over ten years ago, when I was researching P.T. Barnum for my book, There's a Customer Born Every Minute.

I never knew I would ever get to meet the man, let alone hire him to pull stunts for me and today call him my friend.

I spent two hours interviewing Alan yesterday, all caught on video thanks to Nerissa. We also had a two hour dinner with him last night.

What a treat to sit at the feet of this fast-thinking genius - the man behind such historic movements as the one to clothe naked animals, the one to audit the IRS, and of course the Canine Concert and about three hundred more stunts, hoaxes, and publicity magnet events.

If you get a chance, watch the documentary about his life. His daughter created it. It's at times moving, at other times hilarious, and always heart felt. It's called Abel Raises Cain

Alan is a rare breed. I'm glad to call him my friend.

Ao Akua,

PS - Alan is featured in a movie I am also in, called Humbug, about outrageous publicity and the great lotto hoax of 2006. Pat O'Bryan showed it at his Unseminar 3 event yesterday. The crowd loved it. I'll let you know when it is available on DVD.

Aimee's Healing Painting

When my dear friends Craig and Aimee Perrine heard I went in for surgery, they went into shock.

I know their entire family. I once performed magic for their kids. We've shared our lives for years now.

They also know I'm healthy, have never been in a hospital, or ever had surgery.

They were deeply concerned and wanted to do something to help.

Aimee is a gifted artist. She had also just completed the recent Zero Limits seminar with me and Dr. Hew Len. She knew the value of cleansing and following inspiration.

She felt inspired to paint an original work of art for me. She painted a Texas bluebonnet, which Dr. Hew Len said was a cleaning tool.

As she painted, Aimee kept chanting "I love you, I love you, I love you" repeatedly.

She wasn't necessarily saying it to me, but to the spirit of life. She was coming from love, expressing love, and painting love.

When I was well enough to stand a visitor, they drove from Austin to visit and present the healing painting to me.

I was in awe.

I held it, stared at it, and felt it for minutes.

I couldn't speak.

I was near tears.

Aimee is going to reproduce her healing painting. She is going to offer it for sale so others can benefit from this magical art.

In short, my pain helped reveal her gift.

You can see her painting at http://www.healingpainting.com/

SE7EN

Actor Ray Liotta is on the cover of a new sports magazine called SE7EN.

Nerissa took one look at his picture and said, "He looks like he's fifteen years old!"

I met Ray a year or so ago, the same day I met and hung out with actor James Caan.

Ray looks maybe in his thirties in person.

He's a nice guy, not the psychopath he plays in movies like Goodfellas.

According to the magazine, Ray is actually 53 years old.

53?

That's my age.

Did I Attract Emergency Surgery?

A reader sent me this email --

"Well I’m sorry to hear about your appendicitis, but I’m really perplexed – how can the genius who wrote The Attractor Factor attract such a drastic experience??? According to your teaching, you DID attract it, but why?? I suppose you must have slipped up somewhere …. I hope you explain it to us, when you discover your mistake, so we can avoid similar consequences."

I'm surprised more people didn't ask this question.

After all, I'm the author of The Attractor Factor and I'm in the movie The Secret.

If I'm so smart, how come I have a scar now?

Here's how I see it:

Yes, I attracted this.

We attract all of life.

No exceptions.

The thing is, we attract it un-consciously.

We have no idea what we're doing, consciously. We're pretty much bumbling through life.

Myself included.

When doing research for my next book, Zero Limits, I discovered that our conscious mind isn't aware of much more than 15 bits of information in any one moment. The un-conscious, however, is aware of billions of bits of information. Our larger operating system is obviously the unconscious.

The point of life is to awaken. To become fully conscious. We want to clean the unconscious of all limiting or negative programming so we can be in the divine flow that brings us magic and miracles.

But how do you do that?

In mid-January I co-led an intense and life-altering weekend called Zero Limits. It's based on the forthcoming book, Zero Limits. Dr. Hew Len did most of the talking and led the adventure into our soul. The entire focus was on cleansing ourselves of what blocks us from our connection to source.

What I discovered is that there is an unimaginably huge amount of cleansing for all of us to do, myself included.

But I did the cleansing, and am still doing it.

After that historic weekend, my main computer stopped working.

So did my laptop.

And all my main sites, stemming from www.mrfire.com/, went off line.

Nothing was connected and yet all broke down the same weekend.

At that very same time I began to feel stomach problems.

By last Monday night, I was on the way to the emergency room to have my throbbing appendix removed.

What happened?

I'd say my body and life were being cleaned of everything weak or not working.

I'd also say it was an enforced vacation.

As Nerissa pointed out, I have been going and blowing at warp speed, taking on numerous projects, travelling, and barely (ok, never) stopping to relax and refresh.

My unconscious decided to stop me. By stopping my computers, and then me, it made me go on vacation.

But that's not the really important part of this story.

Now please get this:

I didn't see the experience -- any of it -- as negative.

I was never angry, upset, fearful or any other negative emotion.

I was at best curious.

I saw the unfolding of these events like an interactive movie with me the star player.

Believe me, I wouldn't wish an emergency appendectomy on anyone, but this was not the "drastic" experience you might imagine it to be.

Throughout it all, I kept saying "I love you" and the other cleaning phrases.

I simply continued my cleaning.

And it all worked out fine.

I also want to confess that I remember thinking, just weeks earlier, that it seemed odd that I'm now 53 and I've never been in the hospital or had surgery.

I had also written a blog post here that had the headline, "I No Longer Exist." (I've since changed it to "I Am Alive and Well.")

Well, my unconscious decided to deliver the experience to me.

By focusing on it, I began to attract it.

I basically asked for it.

So, did I attract my emergency surgery?

As Rocky would say, "Absolutely."

The Bottom-line: You need to maintain constant vigilance over your mind. But since you can't yet be aware of what the larger operating system of your mind is doing, you must continue cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.

How can you do that?

1. Get support. Miracles Coaching can be the ticket. You can change anything if you have help.

2. Reprogram your unconscious. The Subliminal Manifestation DVD can help.

3. Keep using Zero Limits methods to clean. For now, the best way to do that is to keep mentally chanting....

"I love you."

PS - Right after surgery, when three nurses were transferring me back to my hospital room and reviewing my chart, one of them said, "Joe Vitale? That sounds like a movie star's name." I was groggy but alert enough to say, "I am in a movie! I'm in The Secret! And Oprah is doing a special show on it this Thursday!" Just then Nerissa showed up and with her eyes told me to quit flirting with the nurses.

PPS -- Manifestation is a dance of energies. Nerissa created this emergency experience, as she will openly admit, because she wanted to feel needed and because she strongly felt I needed to stop working for a while. You may have created this experience to have a new insight into the law of attraction and how to co-create your own life. We're all one, folks.

PPPS - Watch Oprah this Thursday.

Pain-Free Insights

A few narcotic induced trances...

I dreamed Nerissa and I were in the future poking around at life one week out. When I returned and explained it to her, I spotted us as we started to live what I had perceived to happen. It momentarily tripped my mental wires. I tried to point us out to Nerissa but she was in the present and I was in both now and to-come.

I saw life as a finished photograph, a long picture with all the highlights of your life laid out frame by frame. You could become conscious of being in the picture and you could enjoy it as divine play. But the next step was to become aware that you could change the next images in the picture by cleansing the image you were in.

I saw myself living in a heavenly place (probably Maui) but surrounded by an army of monkeys who obeyed me and a woman who spoke fluent English and cooked great breakfasts. I'm assuming she was Jane and I was Tarzan. Life seemed good but I missed seeing books in my hut.

I received a "prosperity penny" from a mystic. I looked at it and asked, "Do you have anything bigger?" Seems like something dealing with prosperity should be more than a penny.

Prank the Monkey

Since I've spent this week recovering from surgery, I'm not doing much but -

* enjoy the pain-numbing narcotics giving me Twilight Zone-like glimpses into life (I've had some doozies),

* channel-jump on the TV,

* write a blog post here,

* peck away at a few e-mails, and/or

* read books.

Ah. Reading books. My favorite addiction.

Right now I am surrounded by maybe 150 books. I feel safely walled in from the world. Out of all of these paper bricks of wisdom, one of them has stood out above all the rest.

The book Prank the Monkey by Sir John Hargrave is causing me to need more pain medicine. Every time I read it I start laughing, which causes my stomach to tighten, which causes me to grimace. It's a love-hate thing. Laughter is good. Pain is bad. The balance is sweet.

Hargrave's book is well written, lively, fun and insightful. He's a very human prankster who dares to poke holes at society's weak spots by pulling fairly mild hoaxes.

His targets are the biggies who get too big to remember being small: Wal-Mart, Starbucks, celebrities, and of course government.

The book is subtitled "The ZUG Book of Pranks." It's based on a site I'm now getting to know over at http://www.zug.com/

Since I'm a disciple of P.T. Barnum, and of course wrote a book about Barnum and other hoaxers in There's A Customer Born Every Minute, I love this book. It's in the spirit of Alan Abel and the audacious people who aren't afraid to show us our vulnerabilities in a playful way.

One of the things I love about Hargrave's book is his humanness. He admits to being nervous when he pulls pranks.

I know the feeling.

When I hired Alan Abel to pull The Great Lotto Hoax (soon to be a movie) to help promote my book, The Attractor Factor, last February, I had several sweaty, sleepless nights full of fear. What if this doesn't work? What if it back-fires? What if -- fill in the bank with any fear you like.

Hargrave is afraid, too, but believes in his mission and goes forth, anyway.

I'm glad he did and does.

Except for convulsions of belly-laughter while reading Prank the Monkey -- which in my case is uncomfortable -- it's a healing book.

PS - Mark your calendar: Oprah will air her special on The Secret movie this coming Thursday, Feb. 8 th. I'm not on it - I was on my back in a hospital when it was filmed - but my friends Jack Canfield and James Ray are. Watch it. I bet this show sends the message of The Secret across the planet in a way never seen before. Tell friends. Tune in. Note: This is not a prank.

Magic Genie

You may have noticed that the blog post from a few days ago titled "I No Longer Exist" has been changed to "I Am Alive and Well."

Turns out what I write here is almost like a magic genie: it comes true.

Besides, enough people wrote to me saying they were disturbed or uneasy about the "I No Longer Exist" post to made me realize I was sending out bad vibes.

I apologize.

Please forgive me.

I'll be careful in the future.

PS - Your words have power, too. It's your magic genie. Choose your words carefully. Always express what you want, not what you don't want. We all need reminded of this. Even me.

Blowing the Whistle on "24"

I'm about to reveal the truth behind the hit TV series 24 starring Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer.

I know where the show is going, and if you're a fan, this news may come as a shock to you.

On the other hand, this insight might make the show far more entertaining to you.

Still with me?

Here's the deal:

I've been a fan -- no, an addict -- of 24 since it came out about six years ago. I watched every episode, sometimes holding my breath for nearly a minute as I wondered if a character would live or die. Most of the characters - except Jack Bauer -- die, of course.

And that's a clue.

I've even rearranged my schedule so I didn't do teleseminars or speaking engagements on the nights 24 aired. This was a dumb thing to do from a business standpoint -- after all, we do have Tivo -- but I wanted to see the shows "real time."

I've also collected all the DVDs, the books, and anything directly related to the show. I've felt the show is the most dramatic thing on television in maybe forty years, harking back to the 1960s with the addictive TV show The Fugitive starring David Janssen.

24 is far better, far more intense, and far more gruesome.

And that's another clue.

So, what's my big discovery?

In nearly every episode Jack Bauer demonstrates almost superhuman powers. He never stops to pee, drives through a fast food joint to keep his blood sugar level, or takes a nap.

Yet he gets in car accidents, plane accidents, and is repeatedly tortured, and he still walks away.

Now, this is curious.

I just had surgery. The doctor removed my appendix. All things considered, it's a relatively minor thing. Still, I couldn't walk after surgery and can barely move around now, three days later.

When Nerissa came to get me at the hospital, it took me forever to bend into her car.

So if Jack is getting beat up and tortured weekly, he must not be human.

And that's the secret.

Jack Bauer is not human.

I predict that the show will eventually reveal him to be a government cyborg or some sort of advanced Artificial Intelligence Robot.

He might even turn out to be from another planet, but let's stay "real" here.

You heard it here first.

Ao Akua,

Joe
www.mrfire.com

PS -- Truth is, installing violent images of mass destruction in your head is not healthy from a metaphysical view. If you can watch it for entertainment alone, fine. But 24 is designed to dig into your gut. So I'd say it would be hard to resist their programming. Unless, of course, you're a government cyborg like Jack Bauer.

Francine's Art

I hired Panoz artist Larry Gardinier to paint an original one-of-a-kind work of art of my beloved Francine. It arrived today.

Due to my recovering from surgery, it took forever to open the package. But we did. And the art is a thing of beauty. I can't wait to find the perfect frame for it.

Maybe Francine will forgive me for not driving her over the last week or so.

Choosing Reality

I am on my back recovering from an emergency operation.

I'm typing this on my trusty Blackberry, which is about the only thing that didn't break down on me last weekend.

My main computer quit. My laptop quit. And all of my websites stemming from www.mrfire.com went down.

None of the above were connected in any way at all.

On Monday I went back into the recording studio to complete reading of my book Buying Trances.

But I did it in a lot of pain. By that night the stomach cramps were far worse.

I called my friend who is an M.D. And he sent me to ER. They ran tests and then scheduled me for an appendix removal. They did it too. It was my first ever surgery and first ever hospital stay.

I'm glad to be home.

I'm in pain and can't move much but all in all, all is well

What I find most interesting about all of this is my own attitude.

I was never angry or frustrated. I was more curious.

I'm reading a book called Choosing Reality. Its a Buddhist view of physics and the mind. I can't say I understand it but I can say I love my curious view of the bumps in life.

After all, I have much to be grateful for.

My father's appendix burst when he was ten. He was in the hospital 21 days with three tubes coming out his stomach to drain all the poison.

I am VERY lucky.

Friends sent me emails and amazon gift certificates. Pat O'Bryan even sent a note to his entire list about me.

I am VERY grateful.

No one knows what an appendix is for. Alan Abel once said on a radio show he thought it was a spare penis.

I LOVE humor.

Thank you for your love and support. I should be back online soon.

Joe
